When aiming to err on the conventional  side of the workwear spectrum, I’m a sucker for pieces that in shape the “classic” stylistic bill, however still handle to integrate some contemporary flair.  Exhibit A: these Burberry pieces today.  The pants have a traditional mid-rise, pintucked front as well as tapered leg, however the tone-on-tone textured jacquard material makes them more than just one more pair of black gown pants for the office.  The blouse achieves a similar accomplishment with the polka dot pattern, pleated front as well as pearl buttons.  Of course, it doesn’t get much much more traditional than a Burberry scarf, however the abstract print in very wearable neutral shades brings it into the “now.”  All three pieces can keep things squarely in the company formal camp, however still make you feel like you haven’t totally abandoned your sartorial spirit in the workplace.  Huge wins in my book.
